Hi, I’m Mira, the name behind Knotami, and I run it together with a small team of crocheters and editors.
Knotami started in October 2025 out of a simple frustration: too many crochet patterns online are cluttered, skip steps, or use abbreviations nobody bothers to explain. Beginners get stuck somewhere around round twelve and give up. We wanted to build a place where someone picking up a hook for the first time could actually finish a project.
That’s what Knotami is: free crochet and amigurumi patterns, broken down step by step, with photos and notes on where things usually go wrong.

Who Makes the Patterns
Some patterns on Knotami are our own. Others are shared with the permission of the original creators, and we credit them by name and link to their tutorial. If you are a creator and would like a credit changed or a post removed, please contact us and we will respond.
How Patterns Are Written
Each pattern lists the materials and abbreviations, and gives the finished size where we know it. Stitch counts are shown at the end of a round or row wherever the pattern has them. Many posts also link a video tutorial as an extra reference, but the written pattern on the page is the main guide.
Sizes, yarn amounts and time estimates are estimates unless a post says they were measured, because your yarn, hook and tension will change the result. Patterns are updated when readers point out errors, so if something doesn’t add up, please tell us.
Why Free?
Because staring at a tangled ball of yarn with no idea what “sc2tog” means is no fun, and good instructions shouldn’t sit behind a paywall. The site is supported by advertising and, in some posts, affiliate links, which cost you nothing. If one pattern here helps you finish something you’re proud of, the site has done its job.
