About Knotami

Hi, I’m Mira, the name behind Knotami.

Knotami started in October 2025 out of a simple frustration: too many crochet patterns online are cluttered, skip steps, or use abbreviations nobody bothers to explain. Beginners get stuck somewhere around round twelve and give up. I wanted to build a place where someone picking up a hook for the first time could actually finish a project.

That’s what Knotami is: free crochet and amigurumi patterns, broken down step by step, with clear stitch counts, photos, and notes on where things usually go wrong.

What You’ll Find Here

Every pattern follows one rule: a beginner should never have to guess. The instructions are written to work in your hands, not just to look nice on a page.

  • Amigurumi patterns, from tiny animals to kawaii dolls
  • Keychains and bag charms you can finish in an evening
  • Wearable projects like skirts, tops, and accessories
  • Troubleshooting notes and common mistakes for every project

How Patterns Are Written

Each pattern lists materials, hook size, finished size, and a time estimate before you start. Stitch counts are given at the end of every round so you can check your work as you go. Where a video walkthrough helps, it’s linked as an extra reference, but the full written pattern is always right here on the page.

Patterns are reviewed and updated when readers point out errors, so if something doesn’t add up, please tell me.

Why Free?

Because staring at a tangled ball of yarn with no idea what “sc2tog” means is no fun, and good instructions shouldn’t sit behind a paywall. If one pattern here helps you finish something you’re proud of, the site has done its job.
